Leslie Shipman is the founder of The Shipman Agency, a boutique literary speakers agency, representing leading writers and thinkers who share a deep commitment to words as instruments of change. Before opening The Shipman Agency, she was the assistant director of the National Book Foundation. She has an MFA in poetry from the Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College, and her work can be found in BOMB, The Kenyon Review, and elsewhere. She lives in Brooklyn.
