Kristopher Jansma is the author of Why We Came to the City and The Unchangeable Spots of Leopards and the winner of the Sherwood Anderson Foundation Fiction Award. He received an honorable mention for the PEN/Hemingway Award in 2014. He is an assistant professor of English and creative writing at SUNY New Paltz and a graduate lecturer in fiction at Sarah Lawrence College. Jansma writes the “Unfinished Business” column for Electric Literature and has also written for the New York Times, ZYZZYVA, Salon, Real Simple, the Believer, the Millions, and SLICE magazine.
